About Me

So true! #education #quotes

I love using quotes to express how I feel about my role as an educator, learner and leader. Thank you for learning and collaborating with me to broaden my perspective.

My Portfolio can be found here: Digital Portfolio

I have been in education for over 15 years in which five of those years I have been administrator.

My passion is creating a school and classroom environment whereby all students feel welcomed, cared for, safe and can enter the journey of learning where they are instead of what grade they are in. I continue to challenge my own beliefs and understandings of special education and individual education plans through continuous learning, collaborating and keeping an open mind.

If you have told a child a thousand times and he still does not understand, then it is not the child who is the slow learner by Walter Barbie... So very true--maybe, because we accepted them, taught them and showed we cared, they will become the students we would like to have for someone else. I know that is MY experience.

I am inspired by the work of Rita Pierson and live through the mantra of Ross Greene "Kids do well if they can!"
