Never Give Up Jason McElwain

Teaching about differences, having perseverance and making a difference in another person's life! Great motivational clip reinforcing Education for All! Brings tears to my eyes to think that the coach made a boys dream come true with one simple act!  We have a lot of power to influence students and to make a difference in the lives of our students. It is easy to get bogged down in paperwork, curriculum expectations and timelines leading to stress and frustrations! That is a good time to watch a video like this one to bring perspective back into your life! We need to stop and remind ourselves why did we become educators/administrators?

Teaching Empathy/ Perspective

Great You Tube video for reminding you to put things in perspective. Think about mitigating factors. Show to students to teach empathy "putting yourself in the shoes of another person." I could see students creating a video that shows themselves thinking about perspectives of their peers, community members, teammates, teacher, principal etc.

VROC

I was reminded tonight about a website that is an excellent tool for inquiry learning: VROC.

VROC stands for Virtural Researcher on Call and as the name suggests teachers and students can access experts on demand.

Experts on Demand: Students can talk to experts in real time through video conferencing. For this you need to sign-up but it is free!

Videos: There are also inspiring videos for students to watch.
